Hospital sites need fencing that keeps plant and storage compounds secure without getting in the way of staff, patients and deliveries moving around them all day. Our work at Bolton Hospital has covered both the security side and the pedestrian side of that.
On the security side we installed steel palisade compound fencing and matching palisade gates, including a gate fitted with a combination lock so authorised staff can get in without keys, and a protective palisade cage with its own fence and gate to stop access to an area that needed keeping clear.
On the pedestrian side we repaired and modified an existing walkway handrail, welding the pathway steel handrail on site rather than replacing the whole run, and fitted new pedestrian handrail where it was needed.
Palisade is the usual choice for hospital compounds because it is hard to climb, hard to cut and easy to fit a gate into. Handrail work on a site like this is done in short visits so walkways are never closed for long.
