Commercial premises on a main road are exposed at the back and sides, and the equipment outside them - air-conditioning units, compressors, bins - is exactly what gets stolen or damaged. Swift Dental on Manchester Road in Bolton asked us to close those gaps.
We built a steel palisade security cage to protect the rear of the premises, with a palisade access gate so the practice keeps its own way in. The ground-floor windows were fitted with steel intruder protection bars and grilles, and a separate run of palisade fencing and a gate now encloses the air-conditioning units.
A second steel fence compound was added for the practice as well, so the whole rear of the building is now secured rather than just the obvious door.
Where a compound has to sit tight against a building, everything is measured and fabricated to the gap rather than fitted from stock panels, which is why the cage and the plant enclosure follow the walls exactly.
