Transport yards are a target because the vehicles and the fuel in them are worth a lot and the buildings around them give a way over the fence. For Allens Transport in Westhoughton we fixed concertina razor wire along the rooftop and above the existing palisade steel fence, so the roof can no longer be used as a route into the yard.
Razor wire on a roof is fixed to brackets rather than laid loose, and the coils are tensioned so they cannot be pushed apart. The photos show the installation in progress as well as the finished runs on the building and around the industrial yard.
The other Westhoughton photos are separate jobs nearby: a pair of steel palisade industrial gates, steel-framed gates with timber picket pales where the client wanted a softer look, a steel pedestrian handrail and on-site welding work. Between them they cover most of what a small industrial site in the area asks for.
